Third Party or Hall Effect Joystick Bug on Xbox

    Hi all,

In 2 different games, Baldur's Gate 3 and Lightyear Frontier I've noticed the right stick not working properly when using the crafting wheel in game. In BG3 you can at least select every option in the wheel, but this game actually shows you where you stick is pointing and it cannot reach all the way to the edge except at the x and y axis. In Lightyear Frontier it's literally unplayable because several of the options in the crafting wheel simply can't be selected.

I've tested this with 2 different Gamesir G7 SE controllers and a Turtle Beach Stealth Ultra controller (both officially licensed by xbox) and the same thing happens to all of these controllers in both games. I tested it with an official xbox series controller and it works perfectly fine.

I haven't been able to test a third party with analog sticks so I'm not sure if this is an issue with Hall Effect joysticks or third party controllers.

    :)

    I own it

    Like.I said.I have.stealth ultra and pal.world

The calibration is via third party you have.to.read your.manual for deadzone setting yes stealth ultra has a manual

You do.calibration on the controller itself each has its own profile settings for.calibration

You cN goto accessories on your console and do recalibration but certain things can only be done on the controllers

    Like dead zone calibration

And.I've had it.for.1month I never had to recalibrate and I even sync with the steamdeck sometimes to use it on that

    Your symptoms.is a dead zone

Where thr magnets or sensors isnt reading

Keep.in mind people.say it's supposed to .last.10 year for hall effects or more

You have to address it with the companies

Each has their own calibration modes check the deadzone settings

(Personally I have a stealth ultra myself and I play palworld )

I was able to fix it on the Gamesir by flipping on "raw" which removes the outer radial deadzone. I'll have to try changing some settings on the stealth ultra but not sure if it's fixable yet.

    Edit

Apparently there was an update on the turtle beach controller that fixed the issue, I'll have to check to see if it's up to date.

I checked back and it wasn't Palworld I noticed the issue with originally, It was Baldur's Gate 3 with the action wheel.

These are controllers from 2 different manufacturers so I doubt that's all there is to it, Palworld does still work with both of them, as I said it's Lightyear Frontier that doesn't work at all. If you have gamepass you should give it a try, you just have to play a couple minutes to unlock crafting and you'll be able to see if you're able to select all the building options, I suspect you won't be able to.
