    I turned on my One-X today and I got a screen that said I needed an update to use my console - I tried to download it thrice but it said there was a problem with it.

    I used the OSU1 to reinstall the early October 2019 update which went through perfectly fine, but again, the moment I connected my router back in, I got the same screen, asking me to update or use the console offline. It's trying to update to "10.0.18363.7196".

    Can't I OSU1 this update too? On the system version page 7196 is not listed and in fact, the latest update listed is the October 8 one: 7194 (last four digits).

    Why do I need this new 380-something MB update and why can't I use my console without it? If it helps, I'm not a Preview Insider, never have been, never opted for it - unless MS is now automatically doing it to users. The fact that my console is asking for
    an update and that it is not officially listed on the OS versions page tells me that MS may be selecting random people to try out the upcoming dash update.

    Is this true? I just want my console online so I can do other stuff besides just play games. Thanks.

    Hey ShakyChaff36025! You can use a usb to
    update the console offline    , if retrying the update does not work. Post back and let me know how it goes!
