We understand the inconvenience caused and we are here to help. As per description, you are experiencing audio drop-on in games and apps om Xbox X. Let us check on this together and sort this out to assist your concern.

May we ask if you are attempting to broadcast party chat audio via their Twitch broadcast. If so, then we can try the steps below.
You may just skip those you have done already.


In order to broadcast party chat audio, you will need to enable this feature in the Guide when broadcasting via Twitch. Once enabled, each participant in the party will then have the option to opt-in to their audio being broadcast. The additional party members will need to be on an Xbox console or using party chat via Gamebar on PC. There is currently no option for users on the Xbox mobile app to allow their party chat audio to be broadcasted.

Xbox Broadcasting: With the latest Microsoft Xbox update, streamers will no longer need the Twitch App on Xbox to broadcast and can instead go live in less time by broadcasting directly from their Xbox console. This update will begin rolling out November 16th and will be available to all streamers by the end of 2022.



How to live stream on Xbox: To stream from a live streaming provider on Xbox Series X|S and Xbox One, download the app for the provider you want to use. Press the Xbox button  to open the guide and select Store > Apps. Find and select the app, and then select Install.

Same issues here. After playing a game I will lose audio on Home Screen and apps, only allowing audio through games. Also have had an issue with the opposite, where games have no audio and Home Screen/apps only work. Also have a Samsung smart TV, hopefully they fix this soon, tried everything. Seems to work only again after shutting everything down for 12+ hrs, just to go mute after playing a game again. Unplugged my TV for a couple mins and it seems to be working again, likely is a problem with the TVs.

I concur with the previous posts, audio randomly mutes for games but not for Xbox home screen. I have observed Sky Landers Trap Team audio cease on several occasions; however when I go the the Xbox home screen I can hear audio as I move between selections.
The only way to start game audio again was to eject the disk, reinsert and start the game again.

There is a fader in the audio settings, you can choose if you want all sound to the main app or the snapped app

Configure sound and chat mixer settings

Sound mixer allows you to adjust the blend of sound between visible apps. Chat mixer lets you adjust the blend of sound between your game and your chat communications.

Alternatively if you are playing a game as the main app, just go to the game's audio settings and turn it down to 0.

This is what I do if I'm watching TV snapped.

Go to the Home screen.

Press the Menu button on the controller.

Select Settings.

Note You can say “Xbox, go to settings” from any screen, but you’ll need a controller to navigate once you’re on the Settings screen.

Select Display & sound.

Select the type of audio mix that you’d like to adjust.
