There is a passcode that I did'nt setup

Hello!

There is a passcode on my xbox 360. I suspect my 6 year old grandson may have set it up, but he says he didn't, and I certainly don't know the code.

I've formatted the drive and set it back to the factory settings and removed all accounts from the memory unit and cleared the cache, but the code is still there.

What's a feller to do?

Thanks, I just tried that and was told they cannot help on their end.

I was sent a link that says to enter any 6 digit code 3 times and the console will give me the option to change it.

Thing is, it's asking for a 4 digit code and it doesn't ask if I want to change anything, it just keeps saying try again.

You would have to contact support so they can give you a code to reset it. http://support.xbox.com/contact-us

The issue is the live passcode that you have setup on your account. ("hit the sign on to xbox live button and put my 4 digit passcode in.") The live passcode is there to prevent the connection to live on your account by anyone without a passcode.

Just remove the live passcode and then It will auto sign in to live for you again, You can remove the passcode in account management or by downloading your profile again.

I tried to setup the parental control on the Netflix account but I am still required to enter the passcode on Xbox so my kids can't watch Netflix content of any kind unless I enter the passcode or give the passcode. Netflix support suggested that I remove
parental control on Xbox which I think is unacceptable.

if you are asked to enter a 4 key code, check the whole thread, the answer is already posted

if you want to Setup a passcode instead, navigate to Settings, choose Family, turn it on and enter the passcode you want to use in the future.
