The Windows Store Version of Metro Exodus doesn't create a Save Game Folder

The Game doesn't create a Save Game Folder (C:\Users(Your name)\Saved Games\metro exodus\). Game progress and settings (graphics etc) are not being saved. I can start the game and change settings temporarily, but after closing the game everything is set
to default and the progress is gone.

What I did:

1) I installed the new Version of the XBox App (Including Win 10 Version 1903)

2) I downloaded Metro Exodus via the App and installed it on a different drive (D than my system is on (C.

3) I started the game

Unfortunately I can't install the game on C: because it requires over 50 GB. I assume it's a rights problem, but I can't access the game installation folder to grant admin access to something like metroexodus.exe . In fact, the installation Folder on D: is
just a big archive without any user-access at all (I assume because of copyright protection of the Windows Store)

What I tried (without a solution):

1) Deleting the game via the Xbox App and downloading it again

2) Starting the App as Admin

3) Downloading another Metro Exodus profile and trying to get the game run with these settings / savegames

Almost the same.

First few tries the game refused to even save the progress, but now it seems to work somehow, although I am not sure where the actual save files are stored.

The biggest problem is, the game refuses to remember graphical settings and starts in 1280x720 all the time..you have to change the settings in the start menu all the time to force it running in (in my case) 1440p.

Hi, my problem is almost same... Game remember part of the settings but graphic settings are not saved and game is starting in low resolution every time.

Is the save location are different than Epic version? I have their version as well with almost half campaign finished and would like to transfer my saves from there.

That fixed it for sure. It kept getting stuck in 720p. This is why I have never and will probably never use Windows store again. Something always goes wrong and their file management is garbage. I dont even have permission to access the install folders
out side of the app and no amount of editing the file permissions fixes this. Making backing up and moving files impossible.

Soulution for saving problem!

Run the game as administrator!!!

To do it click on Start -> find Metro icon -> Right Click -> More -> Run as administrator!

OP here but it seems like the savegame folders of Xbox Game Pass games are different. Astroneers doesn't have the usual savegame path too
