THE WEIRDEST APP EVER MADE!!!!!!

HI,

to start off i will let you know that i am using a windows 8.1 desktop pc and an xbox 360 networked via ethernet cable.

ok now lets begin with the SYSTEM VIDEO PLAYER. you know, the one thats basically just a white screen with a list of your content on your computer.

up until about a month ago i was able to play mp4 videos on the system player but now they dont even show up on the list.....infact nothing shows up on the list unless i convert everything i download to WMV.

can anyone tell me why this is?

now for the XBOX VIDEO app. you know, the one thats all prettied up for windows 8 and forces you to buy things to watch them.

the previously mentioned mp4 videos WILL play on this app along with other codecs such as AVI but only when i go across the room to my desktop and phsycally find the file and right click and "play to" xbox.

why not just update your library? you say!

well you see i have set up my folders for the library and set them up to automatically update BUT this does not seem to happen.

can anyone tell me why this is?

what i can see in my xbox video app library is a bunch of videos that i added months ago THAT ARE NO LONGER ON MY COMPUTER!!

i have deleted these files (and before some smart guy says "are you sure they have been deleted?")...yes i am sure they have been deleted however they still show up AND play on the xbox video app on the desktop.

is there a default folder where xbox video is storeing my files i dont know about?

if not, why is this happening?

and last but not least, why. why. why do i have to goto my pc and start videos playing to my xbox? why cant i just pull up the list of movies/music/pictures stored on my pc on my xbox?

the system video player lets m do this. (well at least it used to).

why cant i get the same local content list from the xbox video app?

Xbox One Issues with Pandora

I don't know about all that but I have weird issue where none of "my music" ever displays ever I have to like re-install the app before it shows it to me and then I get it like once
