I did clear the cache twice, both were near instantaneous.

I am not aware of what proofs are on my account beyond normal account info, which has always been valid. I have not activated Two-Step Verification to my knowledge. No changes have been made to my account that I can recall.

I had a friend download and log into my profile from his xbox 360, and he reported that it worked fine (no request for account email or password verification and subsequent error message). I tried downloading and logging in to my profile again after this
and received the same error message as before.

I am having the same exact problem. I'm trying to create a new account and Microsoft requires a 4-digit verification code, but is emailing and texting a six-digit verification code. My husband is trying to log-in to his account and having the same problem.

I have full access to my Microsoft account as I am logged in with it now, the problem is when I go it my security setting and try to change my phone number, the only verification options are sending verification via sms, which won’t work because it send to my old phone number that I don’t have access to anymore (the reason why I am trying to change it) , or Microsoft Authenticator which doesn’t work when I try to sign up. I could easily verify through my email but it seems there is no option for that.

No. I am able to sign into my Xbox live account using the log in info. But the email itself has expired/been deleted a long time ago so I can’t log into the email itself. So when I want to access/change my account info and it asks me to log into my email and find the verification code, I am unable to do so. Again, I know all the info for the old expired email, I just can’t log into for the verification codes because it’s expired

I logged into my account on my mobile phone, or you can on PC, and got a verification code sent to my cell via text message and then entered that code in the box on my phone on my account page, then changed my password, and when I logged back in on my Xbox,
everything worked perfect.
