The switch for recording clips using game bar turns itself off after closing the window.

Hello,

This issue started about 7 months ago and I have been either dealing with it or trying to solve it myself. The version of my computer is 21H2 Build 19044.2006. I have tried repairing & resetting game bar in settings, restarting my laptop, updating my drivers & launching games in different modes (windowed and fullscreen). A photo of the powershell method is provided aswell as that of the finished scan. All my antivirus software is currently disabled and there is no difference.

Yes I have tried switching, it does not detect anything and the switch to allow it to detect things won't turn on.

The exact writing is [Windows button] + alt + R
but there is no reason.

There are occasions where issues that happens on Xbox Game Bar or even on Xbox app was caused by an outdated system. We would like to further isolate your concern in order to get a better understanding.

1. May we know when did this issue happen? Was there a recent Windows update or new application installed on your device?
   
2. What is the version of your computer? Please type on Windows search bar "winver" and press enter.
   
3. What troubleshooting steps you have done so far?
   

Based on your description, we may try to perform these suggested troubleshooting and update us by replying on this thread on how it went.

1. Keep your device updated to catch up with the system requirements of apps and games installed on the computer. Install PC updates including Optional Update. Guide - Update Windows
   
   • If you have issues with update, please check the troubleshooting steps available here - Troubleshoot problems updating Windows.
     
2. Please do the update of drivers, since this issue you have is related to recording. Guide - update drivers in Windows.
   
   • NVIDIA
     
   • AMD
     
3. Try reinstalling the Gaming Services package on your Windows device:
   
   • Right-click the Start button in the lower-left corner of the main screen, and then select Windows PowerShell (Admin).
     
   • In the Administrator: Windows PowerShell screen, type the following command and press Enter:
     
     Get-AppxPackage *gamingservices* -allusers | remove-appxpackage -allusers
     
   • Wait for the process to finish.
     
4. Run System File Checker and DISM Tool
   
   In Windows search bar, search for Command Prompt and Run as Administrator.
   
   Copy the command below one line at a time and paste it on Command Prompt:
   
   DISM /Online /Cleanup-Image /CheckHealth
   
   DISM /Online /Cleanup-Image /ScanHealth
   
   DISM /Online /Cleanup-Image /RestoreHealth
   
   SFC /scannow
   
5. Restart and disable all antivirus, antimalware, VPN, proxy, firewall and PC Optimizer.
