  1. The Sticks on my Wired Xbox One Controllers Are Not Working

Today, my wired third party XbOne controller started acting up. When the left stick is in the neutral position, all of my games resister it as going left. If I tilt it right, it registers as center. The right stick does the same except towards the upper
left. Physically, the sticks look normal enough: perfectly centered but a little dirty. The controller was bought new for like 20 bucks and I kept it in a messy bag, which might help to explain the problems.

I tried different applications and games, they all have the same issue. I tried recalibrating inputs, and even swapping the USB, to no results.

(Edit: Both triggers seem to think they are being held down too)

What are the causes, and how can I fix this?

    :)

    USB Hub with memory stick

You are again describing a generality that I understand but does not explain this particular problem or answer my question. I think you are assuming what I am describing instead of comprehending what I am actually writing so I'll try again.

Please explain the following: The rear port will run the unpowered hub along with the memory stick and TV tuner, or memory stick and wired controller just fine, (It may run even more on the hub but I have not tried running three devices as I have no need to presently.) Meanwhile, the front port will recognize the memory stick by itself (without hub), or a wired controller without hub, BUT, plug in the hub with just the memory stick alone with no competing devices and the memory stick is no longer recognized. Plug in the wired controller by itself into the hub and it is recognized and works. Plug in both the memory stick and wired controller into the hub on the front port and only the wired controller works, the memory stick remains unrecognized.

Why is it everything works on the rear port (unpowered hub with multiple devices attached) but in the front port the memory stick alone via the hub is unrecognized even with no additional devices drawing power. It does not appear to be a power issue when the memory stick all by itself through the hub won't work in the front port, but works fine in every other configuration even in combination with other devices.

controllers aint what they used to be.

I have 5 xbox 360 controllers. 1 wired one is bust (the wired is dislodged from the controller or something). 1 wireless one which works but not really suitable for playing with because the analogue sticks are really worn down. The other 3 controllers
    are in mint condition.

    .

I wouldn't say they're unreliable, i remember my PS2 controllers, when i shaked them it sounded like the inside was all broken and falling apart and the buttons used to get stuck on them.

Is there going to be a new Elite controller anytime soon?

I've gone through 2 standard controllers due to stick drift. I got a cheapo wired 3rd party controller and that was worse, so this time I'm trying out the Hyperkin Duke in the hope that the retro controller has retro build quality (my wired Xbox 360 clear
controller still works fine on pc and never suffered with stick drift or unresponsive buttons)

so far I'm happy with the Duke, but the button placement takes getting used to after a standard controller and it is a bit bigger (so if you have small hands it probably won't suit you)

Wired Xbox 360 controller not working on PC

Thanks MildewySundew70, worked like a charm. I've been at this for a couple of hours. New the controller worked on both my xbox and my other laptop, a Toshiba, but my alienware 14x wouldn't accept it. BTW my controller was a wired one. so it works one both
    wireless and wired.
