Every time I visit the bonus room, the screen will start to freeze after a move. The freeze lasts 10 - 15 seconds, then repeats 1 to several times.

Sorry, I did not find any official error messages about the game on the Xbox Game Studios website.

For the fix of this game application, you can try the following steps.

    1. Repair/Reset Treasure Hunt

"Win" logo key + "Q" to open the search box and type "Treasure Hunt", right-click "Treasure Hunt" at the top of the result list > "App settings" > "Repair"/”Reset“.

    2. Check for Treasure Hunt Updates

Open Microsoft Store, click "Library" in the lower left corner, then you will see the installed applications, click "Get updates" to see if there are any available update, and click the "Update" button on the right to update.

    3. Clear the Microsoft Store cache

"Win" logo key + "R" to open "Run", type "wsreset.exe", and press Enter (this will open a blank "Command Prompt" window, which will close and automatically open the Microsoft Store after about 10 seconds).

    4. Troubleshoot issues with the Xbox app for Windows

You can visit Troubleshoot issues with the Xbox app for Windows | Xbox Support for the detail steps.

Meanwhile, it also may be an issue, you can visit Contact us | Xbox Support for more details about how to contact the Xbox support. Hope your problem will be solved soon!

The screen freezes, especially after a visit to the bonus room.

You mentioned that this anomaly occured after you "visit to the bonus room", can you describe that specifically or send me a screenshot/photo of it, and include it in the next reply to help me understand your situation better?

Then you can try the following steps after enabling all the services in the above steps.

    1. Reset the network

Then you can reset the network. Please run Command Prompt as an administrator ("Win" logo key + "Q", type "cmd", select "Run as administrator"), and type the following commands one by one.

    netsh int ip reset
    netsh winsock reset
    netsh winhttp reset proxy
    ipconfig /release
    ipconfig /renew
    ipconfig /flushdns
    2. Repair possible corrupted system files

Run the following commands to fix possible corrupted system files. Run Command Prompt as an administrator ("Win" logo key + "Q", type "cmd", select "Run as administrator"), and type the following commands one by one. These commands require network support, please keep your network stable and smooth.

    sfc /scannow
    DISM /Online /Cleanup-Image /RestoreHealth
    wsreset.exe
    powershell "Get-AppXPackage -AllUsers | Foreach {Add-AppxPackage -DisableDevelopmentMode -Register "$($_.InstallLocation)\AppXManifest.xml"}"
    for %i in (%windir%\\system32\\*.dll) do regsvr32.exe /s %i
    chkdsk C: /f
Disclaimer: Running chkdsk can check the file system and file system metadata of a volume for logical and physical errors. To avoid any trouble for you, please follow them step-by-step, do not cancel or interrupt chkdsk, and back up important data. For more information, please refer to this chkdsk article.

The command starts with "powershell" is used to re-register the application in question, which may result in some errors that you can safely ignore.

    3. Create a new local account

You can create a new local account by following the steps below and switch to the newly created account to see if the function is normal. Because this cannot be ruled out due to the wrong configuration.

    • Create a local user account
    1. Select Start > Settings > Accounts and then select Family & other users. (In some versions of Windows you'll see Other users.)
    2. Next to Add other user, select Add account.
    3. Select I don't have this person's sign-in information, and on the next page, select Add a user without a Microsoft account.
    4. Enter a username, password, or password hint—or choose security questions—and then select Next.

    • Change a local user account to an administrator account
    1. Select Start > Settings > Accounts.
    2. Under Family & other users, select the account owner name (you should see "Local account" below the name), then select Change account type.
    3. Note: If you choose an account that shows an email address or doesn't say "Local account", then you're giving administrator permissions to a Microsoft account, not a local account.
    4. Under Account type, select Administrator, and then select OK.
    5. Sign in with the new administrator account.

Visit Create a local user or administrator account in Windows - Microsoft Support for more details.

Note: If the new account is normal, please do not delete the old account before backing up the data of the old account to avoid any data loss.

If the problem still exits, you may in-place upgrade the system (which will not affect your data and applications, just update all the system files are the latest), I will provide the specific operation steps according to your repair result in the next reply.

The screen freezes, especially after a visit to the bonus room.

    Hello Mark Youran,

Good to see you in Microsoft Community.

Firstly, could you let me know the specific system version? You can check it by pressing the Win key + R key, and typing "winver", then press Enter, please take a screenshot/photo of it, and only send the relevant information without PII in the next reply.

Based on the current situation, I can't confirm exactly what the problem is. You may Perform a clean boot (microsoft.com) to see if a program or operation is causing your current problem, this is a troubleshooting step, so please be patient.

Disclaimer: A “clean boot” starts Windows with a minimal set of drivers and startup programs. It helps to determine whether a background program is interfering with your game or program and to isolate the cause of a problem.

These steps of "clean boot" might look complicated at first glance. However, to avoid any trouble for you, please follow them in order and step-by-step so that it will help you get you back on track.

If the anomaly disappears after a clean boot, you can follow the steps below to confirm exactly which program is causing the problem.

How to determine what is causing the problem after you do a clean boot

If your problem does not occur while the computer is in a clean boot environment, then you can determine which startup application or service is causing the problem by systematically turning them on or off and restarting the computer. While turning on a single service or startup item and rebooting each time will eventually find the problematic service or application, the most efficient way to do this is to test half of them at a time, thus eliminating half of the items as the potential cause with each reboot of the computer. You can then repeat this process until you've isolated the problem. Here's how:

    1. Sign in to the computer as an administrator. If you are unsure if your account has administrator rights, see Create a local user or administrator account in Windows to find out how to see if your account has administrator rights, and grant them to your account, if necessary.
    2. Select Search , then type msconfig. Select System Configuration from the list of results.
    3. Select the Services tab, and then select Hide all Microsoft services.
    4. Select each of the check boxes in the upper half of the Service list.
    5. Select OK, then select Restart.
    6. After the computer restarts, determine whether the problem still occurs.
      • If the problem still occurs, one of the checked items is the problematic service. Repeat steps 1 through 6, but in Step 4, clear the lower half of the boxes in the Service list that you selected in your last test.
      • If the problem doesn't occur, the checked items are not the cause of the problem. Repeat steps 1 through 6, but in Step 4, turn on the upper half of the boxes that you cleared in the Service list in the last test.
      • Repeat these steps until you've either isolated the problem to a single service, or until you've determined that none of the services are the cause of the problem. If you experience the problem when only one service is selected in the Service list, go to step 10. If none of the services cause the problem, go to step 7.
    7. Select Startup, then select Open Task Manager. On the Startup tab on Task Manager, one at a time, select the upper half of the items you Disabled earlier, then select Enable.
    8. Select OK, then select Restart.
      • If the problem occurs, repeat step 7, but this time Disable the lower half of the items you Enabled in your last test.
      • If the problem does not occur, repeat step 7, but Disable everything you Enabled in your last test and Enable the other half of the items you Disabled.
      • If you still experience the problem after only one Startup item is Enabled, then the Enabled item is the one causing the problem, and you should go to step 9. If no Startup item causes the problem, there might be a problem with a Microsoft service. See Recovery options in Windows.
    9. After you determine the startup item or the service that causes the problem, contact the program manufacturer to determine whether the problem can be resolved, or run Windows with the service unchecked or the Startup item Disabled.

If anything is unclear, please do not hesitate to let me know.

    Best Regards,

The screen freezes, especially after a visit to the bonus room.

This first screen shot shows the bonus level (room) I referred to. The second screen shot shows why I'm not resetting my network or scanning for corrupted files as you suggested. The article in the screenshot clearly refers to the exact same issue I am having. So, there is a bug in your software, not an issue with my PC.

Below is a screenshot with the Windows version. I followed the instructions you provided to temporarily stop services. In issue persisted when both the first and second halves of the services were disabled. Any other suggestions would be appreciated. Thank you.
