The New Minecraft

So, I decided to reinstall Minecraft Xbox one edition to see whats new but I was greeted with a free install of the new version. Now I don't know if its just me but it won't let my install it forces me to pay full price. I don't know if I should contact
Microsoft directly or if there is another way download the new edition. Any Information would be helpful, Thank you

I'm pretty sure Minecraft is just Minecraft. One game, Minecraft. There is also Minecraft story mode, that is a very different game, a telltale series.

Was the minecraft you own on disc or digital? If it was disc, then the offer for the free upgrade has expired and you will have to pay for the new version. If a digital download, then make sure you are logged in with the account that purchased the game,
and you should be able to get the free download. More info about the free upgrade offer is here if you need it

Hi, Thank you for the Reply. I no longer have contact with my previous 360 account, I forgot to sync it when buying my Xbox one. I don't remember the name either, I think it was ButterLover90 or ButterLover300. I will look into finding my old account, Thank

Thanks for the information and reaching out to us! We understand you are trying to figure out what the Gamertag was/is, in order to sign in on the Xbox One.

Try to remember which email was used with the account. If you can remember the primary email and password, it will help the recovery process go by faster. If you can’t sign in to an Xbox Live profile on your console, here are some other ways to

find your Microsoft account:

• Sign in to account.microsoft.com using an email address you think you might have used to create your account
  
• Check your email accounts for messages from Xbox Live
• Check to see if your email address might have changed since you created your account
  
• Have a family member look up your account name from their account
