    The long Dark won't install on PC. Error Code: 0x80073cf3


    I bought The long Dark long time ago and was playing it on XBOX S and PC as it is Play Anywhere. With recent updates and DLC the Play Anywhere stoped working. I bought the DLC and it installed on XBOX as did the updated Game Version.

    On PC however the DLC is not showing up as bought and after trying to get the update for Base Game with a reinstall the installer is stuck on Error Code: 0x80073cf3

    What needs to be done to get this working again? I bought the Base Game (The long Dark) and the DLC (Tales from the Far Territory) and I'm unable to install it.

    Sorry to hear about that, however, try to check if there are pending updates on your PC. This includes optional updates as well.

    Go to your PC Settings > Windows Update > Check for updates

    If it has, check your Microsoft store app > Library > Get Updates and ensure that your apps are up to date.

    If it still won't work, try to repair your Xbox app, Gaming Services app and Microsoft store app, by going to your PC settings > Apps > Installed apps > click the 3 dots > Advance options > Repair and do this to the other apps I've listed > Restart your PC.

    As it was supposed to be Xbox Play anywhere, you might want to reach out to the game developers themselves here https://hinterlandgames.zendesk.com/hc/en-us/re... so they could be able to look into it.

    Thanks. Even if you had clicked on the Get Updates? If so, have you tried checking your order history if it was purchased on the same account on what you have on the Xbox app as well?
