The left stick on my official xbox controller doesn't work properly when I use gamepass for PC

Please try each solution below:

Reinstall your controller driver:
Press Windows key + X and select Device Manager > search something like Xbox controller category (or similar) > expand the category using the little arrow (">") > select delete/uninstall driver

Click OK, restart your PC and reconnect the controller.

If the issue persists, reinstall Plug and Play Software Device Enumerator driver.

You can do it following previous steps, but now select Plug and Play Software Device Enumerator.

Can take a while, would be great to wait up to 15 minutes before trying again

Hello. My controller was already updated to the latest drive. I would like to clarify that the controller can connect to the computer. I get it to work with fine Steam games, all buttons and inputs work fine. It is only with GamePass games. Even in the Xbox PC app, I can move through it and select things with the A button. It is just that when I launched these games using the Xbox app on PC, the controller doesn't work. Only half the time will it read inputs, and the only inputs the games will read are from the Left stick moving through menus and the Dpad moving left and right. None of the other buttons, bumpers, or triggers respond.

Actually I am very sad about my VERY expensive purchase and Microsoft ignoring the issues:

- Controller connected via BT: Installs a generic driver (that cannot be changed, I tried), "accessories" app recognizes the device properly, BUT doesn't allow any customization (they even say so, but don't explain why). Although controller buttons seem to be identified properly, within games they are mixed up.

- Controller connected via USB cable: Only way to properly detect the device and "accessories" app to allow customization, BUT it is cable, when I purchased a WIRELESS controller.

- Bought an XBox wireless stick thinking I could use it to finally properly use my XBox controller wirelessly and the stick doesn't even get a working driver in Win 11.

(this is a different issue than the one in this thread though)

EDIT: The wireless adapter (series 2), does work on my second Win 11 PC. This is very weird. In the first PC I could only force it to manually use 2015 drivers. In my second PC (same Windows versions and updates) it automatically worked with 2022 drivers.

BACK to the topic: Even with the wireless adapter, I do NOT get no ACTION settings. I can only assign controller buttons around. Nothing else.

This is serious.

Especially for such an expensive device!

I agree, the only controller I have that works properly is my elite. All the controllers I have either have triggers that don't work right or the left thumb stick wont work in the up position.

i have an original day one 2013 controller at home, that works perfect, every controller since the Xbox one s has come out get either stick drift on the left stick or bumber issues including the original elite.

I have a third party licenced controller, no issues (go figure).

i think as the left stick double as a click in which is mostly used for running in games causes this issue, but only on the official controllers.
