The email I used to make my xbox account got discontinued

But the thing is when i go to sign into the account i put the email in and the password, it then sends a verification code to the email but i cant get the code because the email doesnt exist

Ok, then im you have to reach out to support.xbox.com and they can help you out.

When that is all sorted out, i would recommend that you go to account.microsoft.com and update your security settings.

It says that I purchased my gold membership 4/1/12. However, in checking my personal information on the billings page it had a extremely old contact email that I hadn't used since the original Xbox days. That email account was discontinued years ago when
I changed my ISP. I updated my information to my currently active emails account.

THIS page. Please review the first section titled "Find your Microsoft Account". It provides you with some tips on how to remember or discover your forgotten email address (Microsoft Account).



If that doesn't help you, then what you will need to do is contact
Phone Support. Explain your problem to them and they will ask you some security questions to prove that you own the account. Once they are satisfied that you are the owner, they will release the email address that is tied to the account for you. If at this
point, you find that it is indeed the email address that you used at school, then explain this to them and they should be able to help you further with that.
