The current community service situation - idea drive to fix known issues

Okay, let us begin.

Currently there is an automated service that bans banter even when abbreviated.

So no words that can be understood by this automated system as potentially derogatory can be said without being banned.

Players who are banned multiple times, even when using only abbreviated and albeit commonly spoken banter can have their entire accounts or systems permanently banned resulting in loss of account and/or purchased games.

Without arguing whether or not the seizing of my purchased digital assets should or is legal after presenting me a receipt of purchase... I'd like to offer a suggestion.

Two suggestions to choose from to be exact:

1. Create a list of words and phrases that cannot be said without a resulting ban or suspension. This will clear up any misunderstanding as currently even the most gentle of abbreviated banter can result in a ban.

If Microsoft is going to make "interpretations" as to what they find derogatory, they should make those "interpretations" known to us.

I.e, omfg is a commonly used phrase to express surprise or disbelief. There is no recorded meaning of those words apart from one's own interpretation. To me it could mean oh my freaking gosh. To others it may mean something else. But it is not a word in any known language and is not recorded in a dictionary or thesaurus as having a specific meaning.

This said, the rules are unclear and if rules are going to be strongly enforced, those rules should be universally known so that people are on the same page. This will obviously benefit the community as a whole and save Microsoft from losing their player base which is inevitable if enough players lose access to their hard earned and purchased games.

Suggestion 2:

Xbox is enjoyed by players of all ages, and as such, not everything should is rated E for everyone, not even the chat. Sometimes players wish to express how things in real life are going or sometimes they like to speak freely with their friends as they would normally in real life.

Imagine talking to your friend and you drop a few f bombs to which both you and your friend laugh as you would normally.

Now you decide to go home and tonight you guys are going to play a game together. But now you have to be extra pg 13 and the conversation has to be very unnatural to account for xbox.

This creates an unenjoyable experience and may result in a large loss of playerbase.

1. My second suggestion to prevent this is to add a profanity filter option.

Currently the automated system clearly has a clear way of determining bans, though unknown to us players, it's clear cut and precise and generally efficient at producing bans... if not too efficiently.

So let's add a profanity filter this way your players can have their cake and eat it too. Players that don't want to see certain words or banter can turn on this filter and any messages that contain potentially offensive material will show up as deleted or won't be shown.

Players that enjoy friendly banter or want to experience gaming with a more fluid vocabulary are now able to do so without impacting those who do not wish for the same.

Thanks for your time guys and I do believe most will agree that adding one of these two options will create a much better structured experience for all parties.
