The button to my right joystick just does not work it also sound different to my right

It'll be a faulty stick module. The modules themselves are really cheap, but I wouldn't say the fix is easy. You have 4 options: -

1. If it's under warranty, get it replaced by the retailer, or serviced by Microsoft.

2. Get a third party repair place to fix it for you.

3. Fix it yourself (fairly advanced soldering skills required).

4. Buy a new controller.

The left and right buttons/joysticks are not giving the required results for the purpose of cheats (for ex-lower wanted level).Whereas the LT/RT AND LB/RB Buttons are working good for cheats.

The joystick and other buttons on top of the controller are working fine otherwise, but just not for the cheats.

Can you therefore , please guide me how do i use the cheats through my xbox wireless controller.

I have bought a new controller, tried different batteries in both controllers, reset the console deleting everything and the issue is still there.

The issue started when I downloaded and started to play COD MW5. The game started and I had no functionality in the right joystick. I went to the dashboard and the right joystick still didn’t work. I tested all the buttons on the controller and they all registered, including the right joystick.

I attempted to play Diablo this morning and noticed during game play and the menus, the right joystick did not work. However if I paused the game, I was able to turn my character around by using the right joystick.

I sent my console in for repair about a week ago for the same exact issue. I get it back this past Monday and issue is still there. They didn’t send me a refurbish unit because I recorded my serial number before I shipped it off and it’s the same console. I called Microsoft to see what exactly the issue was and nobody will tell you.

This is horrible to have a game system that cost this much money for not even a month and already having issues.

Please check that the controller you are using has its firmware fully updated using the instructions provided in the following link:

Often, an outdated controller firmware can cause issues like the one you are experiencing, so it's worth ruling that out as a possible cause.

If the problem persists, do you encounter the same issue when using the controller while connected via USB cable and when using it on different devices? This would help us isolate the problem.
