    The Ascent Force Shutdowns Windows in Full Screen Mode


    I have been playing, or trying to play The Ascent in Full screen mode but it crash, in fact it just shuts down the computer.

    If I play in a windowed mode it works fine. In fact can play for hours at

    1920x1200.

    Has anyone seen experienced this? I have not seen any info on the computer shutting down on fullscreen.

    Running AMD 5950X
    RTX 3090
    32GB RAM
    34 Inch Wide Screen. 3440x1440p

    After some researching it seems it's a common issue and here we have another solution:

    Running a game in fullscreen consumes a lot of processing resources, which can cause the game to become unresponsive at times. Try launching The Ascent in windowed mode to help your computer process everything.

    Open Steam and go to Library.

    Right-click The Ascent and select Properties.

    In the General section, click the Set Launch Options button.

    In the text field, copy the following codes -windowed -noborder

    Hit Ok and relaunch the game.

    Well, didn't lose saved game but didn't resolve issue. After about 2 min. it shutdown again.
