    I recently began playing Tell My Why as part of my Xbox Game Pass membership.

    I had no issues playing the first 2 chapters, but I logged on today to download the 3rd and the Xbox game app for PC advised me it needed to update itself before I could open any of the currently installed Xbox Game Pass games.

    I then completed the update for the Xbox app and downloaded the 3rd chapter for Tell Me Why.

    That downloaded successfully it seemed however now whenever I go to launch the game I get error message of:

    C:/Program

    Files\WindowsApps\Microsoft.Breathless_1.20.5.0_x64_8wekyb3d...\TME-Win64-Shipping.exe

    {Application Error}

    The application was unable to start correctly (0xlx). Click OK to close the application.

    I then uninstalled the game and it's files as I thought there might be a file error and there is no way to verify the files (as there is on Steam) via the Xbox app.

    However, have re-downloaded the game again as well as the additional chapters and I am still getting the same error.

    I am so confused as to what is going on with this as the was working perfectly fine a week ago when I completed Chapter 2.

    Other games I have installed via the Xbox app appear to be working fine, seems to just be this particular game that is having issues.

    My PC is running Windows 10 version 1909 (as it was at the time of playing Chapter 1 and 2)

    Will have to give this a go, I have uninstalled and redownloaded the entire game twice now with no luck.

    I also have the same problem it shows as chapter 2 and 3 are downloaded on my Xbox one but I can't see an option to start chapter 2. I can go to replay in collectible mode and it will say all progress will be lost. How can I start chapter 2 ?

    I have exact the same Problem on PC.

    Same error message.

    I dont even get into the Game Menu .

    Chapter 1 and 2 worked well,now Game wont start after update.

    Unfortunately I cannot even get into the game menu, I cannot load the game at all my PC just throws up that error :( big sad

    Hey mate - I had the exact same thing happen to me (midway through Chapter 2 as well. Was a bit miffed).

    I stumbled around but it's working for me now, but basically my fix was getting GamePass to 'update' chapter 2 and 3, to re-download them:

    • I was looking at each chaper's specific pages and the Xbox app told me there was an update for Chapter 2, but after that re-downloaded it still didn't work (same error);
    • so I launched the Microsoft Store app to see if I could launch it from there and it also told me I'd need to update or install the game. I clicked the button on the store and, as best I can tell, it re-downloaded Chapter 3
    Started it up since and it loaded back up to the point I'd left it, so so far so good. Was a pain in the **** though, had to search a bit before either 'update' option became available.
