    Technical Issue with Downloading Updates (Games & Console)


    My son's Xbox One is having issues with downloading updates for games as well as the console update - see attached screenshot.

    We also have an Xbox Series X which is downloading/installing updates fine so it is not an issue with the network/connection.

    His game updates are stuck at 0.0% and just says "updating". We have tried disconnecting/reconnecting to the network, we have tried resetting the Xbox, unplugging for 30 seconds etc. We have tried a console update too, none of which is working.

    Does anyone have any suggestion(s) other than a complete factory reset of the Xbox One?

    We have tried that but it keeps saying needs to be online but we can't get it online as it says it needs to update the console, which we can't do as we can't get online!

    We're at a loss with it so would appreciate what could be wrong/what we need to do.

    This is a common occurrence with a full hard drive that is lacking space.

    May I ask, are you using an external hard drive?
