You could see if Target will exchange it for the correct version, but otherwise there's no way to make it work for the One unless it's the version that has both the One and Series S/X versions.

If the redeem code gives an error of not activated return to merchant, then its target you have to deal with not xbox. I had this same problem with walmart. The barcode on the back has to be scanned by the cashier or it can't be used. So there was a
problem with scanning the gift card. Every card has its own code. I bought two cards, one scanned but the other wouldn't scan so they re scanned the first gift card. It showed on the receipt that I bought two gift cards but one was scanned twice so the
other one was useless. Walmart gave me my money back because they couldn't take gift cards back as a return. Make sure you still have your receipt and you get to deal with someone nice at target. Maybe take a screenshot of the error message to show target
as well.

also keep an eye out. Stores like Target and Wal-Mart like to throw gift cards in with the consoles.

They'll offer you a nice $5 Target gift card for your troubles. I said don't bother.

I read on IGN that Target is selling it for $329 plus they're giving away a copy of AC Unity and Black Flag along with a $50 gift card if I'm not mistaken. Just check out target. That's a darn good deal.
