Taptiles Tries to Load and Goes to the Desktop Taskbar

I'm having the same problem with Taptiles, Mahjong and Solitaire.

 

I managed to launch Mahjong and Solitaire in airplane mode, but this does not work for wordament, taptiles, or snap attack.

 

I am having the same problem. Can not get Tap Tiles to work. I click on icon it goes to black screen. I even had Micro Soft uninstall and reinstall Tap Tiles to no avail!

MS or whoever should fix all the problems with Tap Tiles. I am retired and I play the game to keep my mind sharp.

I saw the fix suggestion about accessing window app folder and deleting taptiles from there. Even though I'm adminstrator, I can't do this either. It tells me I don't have permission, then click the security tab, where I cannot do anything to change permissions.
How did you manage to do this WoodsyLattice 08? Please let us know.

 

I would love to follow the directions provided on the forum, but am not a programmer and have no idea where to get the linux live cd. I am on 8.1 laptop and appreciated hippedhail info but not experienced enough to understand. Feeling very alone and unsupported
in trying to use what came on my computer as entertainment and is now unusable.

 

If you can't access the C:/program Files/Windows Apps folder download a program called Q-Dir and run in administrator mode. I can access the folders using that.

 

The bad news. It didn't help.

You shouldn't need to install any extra programs or access the files. Just right-click (or click-hold) on the icon in the start menu, then select uninstall from the resulting context menu. Then reinstall from the store and check for any updates.

For those affected, like me, nothing seems to work. Uninstalling, deleting old appdata files and reinstalling makes no difference. It has been like this since a windows update at end of May. And Microsoft seem to have gone silent.

 

So, almost a year later and STILL no fix for this. Shame shame. Typical Xbox tho. They tell you to post in the forums because this is where their customers can vent and be ignored. They never actually answer you here!! And if something is broke, OH WELL!
They don't care!!!! Taptiles works fine on Windows 8 but once you go over to 8.1 it will crash to the previous screen you were on and have an icon on your desktops taskbar. Uninstalling, reinstalling, wsreset.exe ... none of it will work. I'd ask for help,
but I already know better....
