Taptiles Tries to Load and Goes to the Desktop Taskbar

I am running Windows 8.1. Now, when I attempt to run Taptiles, Taptiles acts like it is trying to load but ends up as an item on the Desktop Taskbar. It has been 2 days and I have uninstalled/reinstalled w/o success and even tried wsreset w/o luck. I
NEED ANSWERS NOW!

Mahjong won't load

I tried to access solitaire, mahjong and taptiles today and none of them will load. The logo screens just hang there, then go to taskbar.

 

taptiles won't work

same problem as everyone else. Purple taptile shows and starts to launch and immediately goes to the taskbar. I have a pavilion touchsmart

Posted 18 May 2014 2:45 PM The fix for this is to unhide your hidden files and folders and navigate to C:/program Files/Windows Apps

you will see windows.taptiles folders, delete all of the wndows.taptiles folders and then go to your start menu and right click the tap tiles icon and select uninstall. Restart the computer and then reinstall tap tiles from the app store

 

Would you please explain just how I am supposed to unhide the hidden files and do this navigating because those files are restricted to an administrator that as the OWNER of the computer I am not able to be.

 

I am also having the same problem. I really would not like to uninstall the program because I have accomplished a lot in the game. However, I would do it if I have to. Yet in reading the information I also don't know how to fix the problem. Any help I would
appreciate it.

 

Just so you know, uninstalling the program won't cause you to lose your progress as long as you're logged in to Xbox.

Also we are aware that people are having issues with Taptiles and we're trying to get it fixed. Any information you can provide about what device (tablet or PC, 8.0 or 8.1) you're using and what happens when you launch the game (crashes to desktop, blank
screen but with sound, etc.) would be fantastic.

 

I am running an HP laptop with Windows 8.1. When I open taptiles it crashes to the desktop. This has been happening since 5/12/2014, I was playing like normal and closed the program and when I tried to open it again later it crashed to the desktop taskbar.
I really enjoy this game and am very frustrated about the lack of response from MS. It would have been more professional of MS to have posted on this thread or at the store on the Taptiles page rather than leaving customers hanging in the wind.

 

it has been days with no response and weeks with no game. Any kind of update to let us know just what the heck is going on would be appreciated. I feel like I have been left swinging in the wind. I can assure you that this bug makes my decision what gaming
system I will not be purchasing this year. The way that this company treats customers is abominable...

 

Mine is doing the same thing. I have uninstalled and reinstalled several times and it continues to crash to the whatever screen I was in before installing Taptiles again. I can't find anywhere I can buy Taptiles or get any support for my brand new computer
and game.

 

I managed to get Taptiles running again by uninstalling it from within Windows, and then booting a linux liveCD, mounting the Windows partition, and doing rm -R on both the Microsoft.Taptiles directories I found in C:\Program Files\WindowsApps\

After rebooting and reinstalling Taptiles it worked right away. Note that I had to get into the BIOS and temporarily disable secureboot and enable legacy boot for my old liveCD, but Windows 8.1 booted again after reverting the settings.

 

I am not a computer programmer and could not possibly do the fix that has been posted here. I am a random person and if it takes being a programmer to make this game work then I guess I am done with this game. I have messaged this Helen Casper person on

even though you fracking deserve it. I am expected to figure out the problem with this game and fix it my darn self even though you are being paid to do it. Coming here maybe once a week and posting random questions acting like you are working on the problem
when there are other people who have posted answers to your question and they are getting nothing from you. My game has not worked since the 12th of May...How many times have you been paid Helen Casper since then for not doing anything to help me.

 

Schlatski helped me finally find a solution; I found a solution via Windows System Recovery Command Prompt. After uninstalling Taptiles, I had to go to Change PC Settings and then Update and Recovery and selecting the Command Prompt recovery. When you
go to the recovery command prompt, it will be on the X: drive instead of the normal C: drive. Then, you can delete those directories.

 

I also have this same problem. Was working fine but now doesn't. Have to resort to signing onto my hubbies tablet to play it
