Taptiles has not worked on my Envy HP system with windows 8.1 since May

8.1 Windows game hasn't worked since may - the updates for taptiles come regularly and do not fix the issue.

Steps to repeat:

1. click on taptiles icon

2. expected result: game should open

3. actual result - taptile home page flashes and closes

4. additional research shows the following crash info in apps folder of computerwhen I search for taptiles exe

taptiles.exe.9616.dmp

C:\Users\Holly\AppData\Local\CrashDumps

also shows last update of game on 8/16/14

Taptiles 8.1 issue AGAIN!

We have the same problem, Taptiles minimizes itself immediately on launch an HP Envy laptop. It was working, then stopped. This problem exists with both accounts on the Envy. Taptiles works fine on both accounts on an HP Pavilion. On my desktop, Taptiles
will not connect to Xbox, although other Xbox games work fine. All systems run Windows 8.1 All systems are current on Windows and application updates.

 

Taptiles problems - we need your help!

I am running windows 10pro 64bit on an HP Envy TS17 notebook - Taptiles briefly shows purple splash screen then disappears. Used to run on windows 8.1 until a bracket of updates broke it. No error codes - no access to program files to try compatibility
mode either.

 

you need to look at some of the other threads. I have had the same problem and finally got help from Costco's team and they found the fix on a thread it was posted 5/18

 

It has to due with update not removing original files for game and so it does recognize, but when removed then reinstalled from store then they work. Not uninstall and reinstall...that did not work for me

you will see windows.taptiles folders, delete all of the wndows.taptiles folders and then go to your start menu and right click the tap tiles icon and select uninstall. Restart the computer and then reinstall tap tiles from the app store

 

do not want to take credit it was a copy and paste could not get his name...but smart

 

This has worked for some, but for many of us it has no effect. Once it has been done and the reinstalled Taptiles crashes there are no replacement data folders or if there are, they are completely empty.

 

PrimarySpring, am I understanding correctly that you're unable to run the game on an HP Envy device? Which specific device do you have?
