    First off I have been an Xbox User since gen 1 and I currently have a Series X. For the first time since I have owned an Xbox I feel like I am missing out. It is purely due to Xbox console policy. I am talking about not having FF14 available on Xbox. Everyone wants it but, policy is getting in the way of making it happen. I can understand the potential security issues behind opening up cross platform communications. If Sony is able to make it happen with PCs why isn't XBOX? Does this potentially create a backdoor in to other Microsoft systems?

    Regardless due to the fact that this issue will not get resolved and hanging on promises for years. I'm going to break down and buy a dreaded PS5 because it has the game I want to play. Which means I will also be stopping my Xbox ultimate for the foreseeable future. No point in paying for both.

    I understand that I am just one person and do absolutely nothing to your bottom line. Regardless I was passionate about supporting an American gaming company. I'm sad that I am forced to make this change. I also understand that pc is an option but, I didn't want to spend 1500 to 2500 dollars to get a decent gamming rig going again.

    The only reason I am posting this here. I didn't want to use some 3rd party site and I didn't want it lost in the masses.

    @Shigurui. Yeah, I was talking more about cross platform between ms and Sony. Bot companies will venture into cross platform with PC.....Just not with eachother, which is a shame.

    Join Xbox friend's game with xbox game bar/ xbox console companion, for games like overwatch

    You can talk to your friends using the Xbox companion app but you can only play cross-platform games with them. As of now Overwatch is not cross-platform.

    Chief Xbox One Platform Architect, Marc Whitten, has confirmed that cross-platform voice chat will not be available: "For a variety of technical reasons - including the sound quality that I talked about above - we don't support voice chat between the two
    systems." You will still be able to send text messages cross-platform though. As it currently stands, cross-platform voicing is not looking to be done due to the aforementioned issues.

    Currently I don't think there's any cross platform games for xb1 and ps4. There was talk of this happening some time last year, but haven't seen any progress.

    You can cross platform on windows 10 and xb1 with some of the new titles, like forza Horizon 3.

    That's my guess, a few of those EA games could be timed exclusive for the XBOne and most of them will make limited use of the kinnect too.
