tab opens up when I press any button on my xbox controller. How do i fix this?

I finally figured out a fix!!!!

it is to open the Edge client on your xbox, close any open tabs, and then press the Settings button on the home page of Edge. It will open a menu. Scroll this menu with the right stick and it will make the cursor disappear. While the cursor is invisible, press the Xbox button on your controller, press start on Edge client, close the program, and return to your game free of the cursor. Enjoy!!

I just got off a live chat with support and they were able to resolve the issue. Here is what I had to do:

Disconnect my controller (since mine was wireless I did the long press on the home button to get the 2 options of turning off the console or controller and selected controller)

Then they had me power down the console (pressed the button on the front panel)

Then, unplug the power supply for 30 seconds

plug back in

Power on the console

Then power on the controller.

It worked for me. Hope it helps someone else.

Hi guys, what worked for me.

I opened Xbox One, did not sign in, since could not open settings, home button not working, i opened up tab "Xbox Tips & Features". There i opened "Xbox Assist", then go to "Fix", then press "Manage my account" then you can get to the settings part of the
xbox. Then i moved to System tab, press "Console info" then "reset console", after which you get 3 options: "Reset and remove everything", "Reset and keep my games & apps" and of course "Cancel". I just pressed "Reset and KEEP my games & apps". Then you just
set up your Xbox One as it were opened from a fresh box and the Home button started to work.

Clearly this is an operating system problem, hope this does not happen again.

Try resetting the controller, follow the below steps

Hard Reset:
A hard reset is more thorough and can help if your controller is not responding as expected.

Turn off your Xbox console.
If the controller is connected wirelessly, press and hold the Xbox button on the controller for about 10 seconds. The controller will power off.
If the controller is connected via USB, unplug the USB cable.
If your controller has a removable battery pack, take out the batteries.
Wait for a few seconds to ensure any residual power is drained.
Reinsert the batteries or plug in the USB cable.
Turn on your Xbox console.
Press the Xbox button on the controller to turn it on. The controller should resync with the console.
Factory Reset (Advanced):
A factory reset of a controller is rarely necessary and should be used as a last resort. This will erase all pairing and customization settings from the controller.

Turn off your Xbox console.
If the controller is connected wirelessly, press and hold the Sync button on the controller (located next to the USB port).
While holding the Sync button, press and hold the Xbox button on the controller.
Continue holding both buttons for about 10 seconds.
Release both buttons.
Turn on your Xbox console.
Press the Xbox button on the controller to turn it on. The controller will be reset to its factory settings and will need to be paired with the console again
