SYSTEM UPDATE HAS ERROR WHILST UPDATING!

If its an error whilst trying to update, try to perform an offline update, and see if that helps.

Possible clue.

Checked Settings - System - console update status.

Page showed last update 13Jan 2020, Last status check 18 Jan 2020 0237hrs.

No console updates available i.e the system has most recent update

Update status was reading as failed with an error code in brackets.

Whilst I have been typing this and flicking between browser and settings screen to double check wording / nomenclature the status has changed to update successful. Aforementioned dates times of last update and status check has not changed.

I was online when last update was applied. System dumped me out of what I was doing to undertake update and three stage process looked like it completed just fine, downloading, unpacking and applying updates inlusive of auto system restarts as expected.
I watched the process, it did not hang or error.

Remote Management and Mobile Management are not enabled.

Still points to some funniness with last update.

Get button still not working.......

hi there, the system may have been powered off whilst half way through an update but there is a way to fix this.

If the console has been set to Energy saving mode then the console will not download any updates whilst it is switched off, if you have the console set to instant on mode then you can change a setting to either allow it to download system or game / app updates
whilst powered off.

Try clearing your cache

Sign in on your console and on the 'Home' hub of the dashboard and scroll to the far right, then select the 'Settings' hub.

Then select the 'System' tile in the upper left.

From here scroll down x2 and select 'memory.'

Highlight the HDD and press 'Y', then select 'clear system cache.'

(A message will pop up saying 'This will perform maintainance on your xbox 360 storage device, do you want to continue?'

Select 'Yes.'

Now that you've cleared the cache, pop a game in your console and install the update when prompted. You will need to

perform this for every title you play after clearing, but it should only be the once per title now (unless future

updates are released).

If this does not work try deleting and recovering your profile.
