System update error 0x800701E7

We got this error on our Xbox one console after my son tried to update Fortnite yesterday. Says we need to perform an offline system update and says we need a windows-based PC.

Therein lies the problem, we only have Macs.

Are there any ways to perform the update with a Mac?

can't download day one update

Xbox Update Error

hello ive been having problems when i update my xbox one, i get 3 error codes

Yes I did. But it says we need a windows based PC which we don't have. We only have MacBooks.

Hey there Dan!

So yeah, it does say in that wizard that you would need a Windows based PC, so if you guys only have Macbooks, then you would have to go somewhere where you can get the update off a PC.

You can try various libraries or even borrow a friends, but we do not have an offline update compatible with Mac.

See if you can get access to a PC and let us know if you run into any trouble with the update

I unplugged the xbox for a day and when I turned it back on, all is working fine again. Thanks for your help. It seems the solution was simple in the end, thankfully!

Here's what I've found when looking up the error code 0x800701e7:

To resolve this problem, use the Xbox One System Update Solution:

Go to the
Xbox One System Update Solution.
Select I am getting an error message or an error code.
Select I am getting an error code.
Scroll down the screen and select 800701e7.
Follow the instructions in Step 4 to successfully update your console.
