system service exception BSOD after playing a steam game.

it was somewhere between 18:33 and 18:39 when it happened. I was playing a game from the popular gaming app "Steam". while loading a map from the game, I was met with a BSOD and the stop code of what I believe to be "system service exception."

[I put it down as "gaming & Xbox" and "other" since I didn't know if whoever responds to this would support this and since I didn't really know about this BSOD stop code, I want help from People who know a bit about stop codes so that I know how to deal with it if the same stop code appears when playing the same game. I will try and respond when I can, and I am willing to give as much information as I can.]

    thank you.

    Hi K-J-L,

Based on your description, your best bet is going to be to reach out to the game developer. You should be able to see a support path for them when looking at the game in Steam. If not, feel free to reply back with the name of the game and I may be able to find their support channel for you.

    Good evening

A "System Service Exception" BSOD is usually caused by a driver or system service that has failed. In your case, it may be related to the graphics card driver or some other system driver that is involved in running the game.

Run a Memory Check, use the Windows Memory Diagnostic tool to check if there are any issues with your computer's memory.

Check for Malware, use an anti-malware tool to scan your system for any viruses or malware that could be causing the BSOD.

If the issue persists, you can try disabling any overclocking settings you may have applied to your system, as well as uninstalling and reinstalling the game from Steam.

xbox game pass for pc causing BSOD

Same problem here. Older installations worked just fine, but after I uninstalled Age of Empires 4 and reinstalled it, my PC would crash to a BSOD with error code "PFN_LIST_CORRUPT" or "KERNEL_MODE_HEAP_CORRUPTION". Other games from the EA Play service or Steam are launching just fine.

I've already tried to reset all the Windows Apps (Store, XBox-App) involved and followed all steps (except clean installing) from this post, but that didn't change anything in my case.

Gamepass pc games installation causing BSOD

The problem continues, when opening any game there will be an almost immediate BSOD a few moments after starting, the last update did not solve anything.

The only solution in my case was to temporarily deactivate Windows Defender to be able to play without problems, and after finishing playing, activate it again, with games from Steam, GOG and other clients they work without problem.

It is insulting that in almost three weeks the problem still has no solution and that it does not even have priority, since we are not talking about simple crashes or application closures, we are talking about complete system crashes due to a critical error and damaging system files.

BSOD When installing Xbox App games

Follow these steps to boot up windows without BSOD and at least you can try to solve the issue (I`m still trying to solve it)

1- Disconnect Ethernet Cable or turn off WiFi

2- Power On PC (Computer will start without BSOD)

3- The BSOD occurs when in XBOX App you pick a game and press install, after you select the path where you want it... The BSOD triggers. So you need to go to Device Manager and you need to disable the disk where you chose to install the game. (if the hdd is the same as the system... sorry)

4- With the HDD disabled, connect to internet.

5- After a couple of seconds enable the disk..

6- You will have all working until you power off or restart system... you will have to follow all these steps again. This is only for try to resolve the issue with all the system working

Hope it helps to find some solution...
