While I Was Updating The Console It Restarted After The Update Finished And With The USB In It It Said Extracting And Went To System Error E71 And It Took The USB Out And It Worked But When I Put It Back In Red Ring And Error E71

Hi,

Sound like an hardware issue with your hard drive...

If the previous answer cant solve the issue, i suggest you to buy a new hard drive for your Xbox 360 or contact helpdesk if still in warranty.

My 360 just got the red ring of death after the latest update as well. Happened right after the new dashboard update. Started freezing up aftrer first reboot post update then the screen got scattered, then reboot with e71 error. Now red dring of death. This
box has been running perfect up until the very moment the update was installed!!

The Dec 2011 update seems to be a real issue.
