    Hi, I recently plugged in a friends Xbox one remote (using a USB cable) to my Xbox One S All digital. And after maybe an hour or so my Xbox turned off. I didn’t think anything of it until it happened two more times. On the last
    incident I got this error code - E106 00000009 80070002

    Now I can’t get past this screen & I know it was the remote because when I plug it in aging it continues to turn off my Xbox & this is a Microsoft remote not a 3rd party remote.

    What can I do?

    Besides throwing it to the trash.

    Offline update

    I have tried doing an offline update per instructions on the support page but get an error message each time of E106 00000009 80070002. I have read that there is something different about the console being part of the insider program.
