Syncing the wrond save files - Remnant - From the Ashes

Remnant: From the Ashes isn't part of Xbox Play Anywhere, which means that your save file isn't transferred between both devices. What happens is that your character is used on the game while playing online, and it is attached to your account through the game's servers, and not a save file. Sadly, if you've lost your character on the game's services, you'd need to contact their support to check if it is possible to recover that character, but it most likely isn't.

Have you tried deleting all files from the folder and starting the game to see if the progress is resynchronized with the cloud?

I just did, twice to make sure and it just starts with a new character and a Xbox pop up appears on my screen saying it's synchronizing then fully synchronizes with no change in game. The container file in the game saves file reset from being 103 to 4 so I know some type of change happened.

I saw that you managed to regain progress up to a certain point, but not the items in your inventory.

Perhaps the developer can retrieve these items but you will have to contact them. On this link, you can do this.
