Sync button no longer working, can i fix it?

Hello there folks.

I've been using my controller via a bluetooth connection at the pc for a couple weeks now, today i decided to connect it with the cable, since the battery was dying. Ever since then the controller's sync button no longer works and i can't wireless connect it anymore.

When i press the power button followed by sinc it still gives quick blinks, but doesn't connect, nor does the sync button work on it's own. How can i fix this, what in the seven hells is going on?

Please help.

Have you tried to update the controller firmware?

You can download the Xbox Accessories App here: https://apps.microsoft.com/detail/9NBLGGH30XJ3

Once downloaded, connect the controller with a USB cable to your PC, and if an update is available, please accept it.

Sorry to hear it. If the sync button is not working on your console then I'm afraid your best option would be to use a micro-USB cable to connect the controller to the console

First try a power cycle by turning off the console and unplug it from the wall. Let it sit for about 2 minutes and then turn it back on.

Try to turn off the console and remove the power cord; wait for 1 to 2 minutes before plugging it back in and turn on the console and check again!

Probably is that piece of hardware indeed the issue.

Unfortunately, there's no way to sync your controller to your console via settings, only with the physical button in it.

Probably is that button, the issue. But you would have to take your console to a repair store in your region to be analysed. Since the original One model is no longer manufactured by Microsoft, Microsoft doesn't offer any repair services for it any more. :/

Do you know specifically which piece of hardware needs changing?

The power button, the eject button and the sync button are all on the same board but the only thing apparently not working is the sync mode.

Pressing the sync button causes a "click" on the far side of the console so I don't think the button *itself* is faulty as it's having an effect elsewhere.

Any help appreciated!
