SYFY Now app issue?

So, just installed the new Syfy NOW app on my XBOX One. Was set up and ready to watch Defiance and catch up... but DirecTV can't be verified as a TV provider because it isn't in the selected list. HOWEVER - if I want to watch Defiance online - DirecTV is
able to be verified...

What's the deal?

It's August: Does Microsoft intend to fix the issues with X1 anytime this year?

the UI is easier navigated by voice commands... None of this go home, open apps direct to SyFy App, click it... Xbox go to Syfy.. SO MUCH EASIER

but to each their own I guess

Directv not on syfy now provider list.

 

Except it is - according to the website (i'm signed in right now and able to watch defiance from any computer I want)... just not on the XBOX One app which is fishy...

 

Seems that the Syfy Now app for XBOX One is only a 'beta' app at this moment in time... ugh... DirecTV will be 'added later'

We've confirmed with your tech team that the Xbox app is a beta test app which is not yet fully functional. This is why DirecTV is not listed.

Currently, we're in the process of developing full support for Xbox 360 and Xbox One platforms. However, we do not yet have additional information such as when this will be fully operational.

I know this thread is a year old, but it's the only one that I've found so far that deals with the "SyFyNOW" app. I too, have DirecTV, and it IS listed in the options to choose from, however, when I attempt to "Activate" the App by providing the activation
code, and my DTV login creds, the webpage ticker just spins and spins and spins... never actually activating the app on my XB1.

Does anyone have a workaround for this issue? Is this a known issue? I let it sit overnight, trying to activate, and I've tried the activation process on three different computers (2 Win8, 1 Win7), in the IE, Firefox & Chrome browsers, with the same results
in all situations...
