Switching xbox profiles doesn't switch game profiles?

I haven't done a ton of console gaming in recent years. But back in the day on my 360 I remember when you switch your Xbox profile, the game you're playing restarts on the newly logged in account.

Now we just got the kids and my (boomer self) a series S, and my account is the one in charge of the family group, and whenever we switch to my kid or wife's account, the game is still logged Into my account. It's the same when switching from theirs to mine.

I skimmed through the settings and can't find an "auto log out" for game settings. The brief interwebz search I did on this netted me 1 thread relevant to my issue, from 5 years ago, and nobody responding to the guy's question seemed to actually answer it.

Is the game that you're playing an Xbox 360 game downloaded onto the Xbox Series S or is it newer?

What game(s) are you experiencing this issue with?

Are you referring to an in-game profile that's still signed into the game after switching accounts? (Ex: Dad account is signing into the game and loads in-game profile. Dad switches from his account to son's account and Dad's in-game profile is still signed in)

Don't worry we will work on this together. Please make sure you can sign in all your profiles. Let's try to restore the console back to factory defaults but we will select keep my games and apps so it won't remove your games and progress.

Please follow the steps here:

- Press the Xbox button to open the guide.

- Select Settings

- Select System

- Select Console info & updates

- Select Reset console

- Select Keep Games and Apps

After this, you will have to sign in again with your email and password. Then please check if there's any changes.

Xbox one I am using. Until last week I could log in to my main profile. Load up game select alt I wanted to use then switch back to main profile. But now when switch it switches whole profiles over

Technically, your account should be synchronized across all Xbox services and applications on your PC.

May I know the specific apps you use to login separately?
