    Switching to a new Seagate 8TB Game Drive Hub.


    Hello All,

    I currently have an XBOX One console with a 1TB External HDD. I do have a new XBOX S on order as well but it will not be here until sometime next week. In the meantime, until my new XBOX S arrives, I thought it might be helpful if I picked up a new Seagate 8TB Game Drive Hub and used the larger capacity drive to transfer all of my data over to the new XBOX S.

    As I prepare to connect the Game Drive Hub to the XBOX One, I looked over the instruction booklet that was supplied with the unit but was shocked as I would never have believed that someone would take the time to include absolutely no useful information in so many languages.

    So my question is: How do I install the new 8TB Game Drive Hub, and get the data off of my old 1TB external drive? There is too much data to on the 1TB external HDD to copy onto the XBOX One internal HDD, and do not believe I have sufficient space on the 1TB HDD to transfer the contents of the XBOX One internal HDD onto the existing 1TB external drive.

    Can I have both the 1TB external HDD and the 8TB Game Drive Hub connected at the same time, then transfer my data from the 1TB drive to the 8TB drive?

    Or, do I remove the 1TB HDD , then install the new 8TB Game Drive Hub, then reconnect the old drive to the new drive?

    Any insight would be greatly appreciated,

    You would just plug them in at the same time and transfer the data between the 2.

    External drives for the XBox One X

    the 8TB Game Drive Hub made by Seagate works really well, but if you can find an SSD External drive it would be better but it will cost more. The Seagate I referred to is HDD but it works fine.

    Yes. New from Walmart electronics.

    They only had one so no exchange is possible..

    I think there's two hdd in the device and one has failed the Long Generic test using seagate tool for windows (drives).
