Switching from Xbox 1 to Series S

Dad here...my boys had their own Xbox's, one with a Xbox one the other a series S, recently replaced the xbox one with a series s so both have the same. I am the main account holder and the boys had their own, but all the games were bought on mine. All fine and they have been working fine with playing the games on their onw consoles without a problem.

After we transferred everything over to the new series s from the xbox one we can't play the games anymore as we keep getting a message that I'm signed in on the other xbox and need to sign out for the youngest to play on the new series s. We never had this problem before and plugging in the old xbox one everything works like it did...

Can anyone help or guide me through what we need to do?

JohnHutton4, you see my friend, since the games are bought under your account, you can only share them with one person.

Meaning, that your account can only be set as home console on one console (what that does is make your games playable on that console without needing to log into your account to access them). And on another one, for the games to be playable, you would have to use your account to play them.

Unfortunately, you can set your account as home console on both your son's consoles.

Oh heck yes. Even if it's a simple "No, you can not set your home xbox on a Series X/S if you are using a profile from a Xbox 1, Xbox 1 S, etc...". Otherwise, from a technical perspective, this should be investigated by the developers/operations team to determine if it is a bug or not.

To me, it seems like this SHOULD work if a Series X/S user can set their home xbox to a Xbox 1.
