    Switching from disk game to digital copy, Will my content save over from my disk save date...


    I have a disk of a game, i want to purchase the game digitally. But, if I buy a deluxe version of the game i.e. includes season pass content or cosmetics. Will the save data from the game I've been playing on the disk still work on the new digital version I purchase? I figured it should since it's still the same game title but don't want to buy a new digital copy if I can't use my saved progress.

    The edition/ version of a game doesn't change the actual game. It simply adds items and other content that can be installed onto the base game. :)

    Short answer, yes.

    The progress made isn't stored on the disc. It's stored and tied to your account. Once you install the new copy, your progress will sync and become accessible :)

    External HD interferes with disc reads

    Disk copies of games are recommended on internal so the console can access it faster and easier as for digital copies they are usually meant for external HDD to save up space.

    You trouble may be that the disk copies refuse to work when saved to external. So what i want you to do is go to My games & apps - What ever disk copies you own - Manage game - Installed - hover over the main game - press select - Move

    Once done sign out and re-sign in.
