Switching A Xbox Account To My Microsoft Account

So, when you say you want to change the email of your Xbox account it's basically the email of your Microsoft account that you want to change. You can certainly do that as explained in our Change the email address or phone number for your Microsoft account guide.

However, as I've mentioned before and in the guide itself there are some caveats to doing this. The one that might concern you the most is a possible loss of all your purchases and achievements if changes are not done correctly. Thus, pay close attention to the primary alias of the account. Under no circumstances should you change that.

I would like to let you know that's not possible to transfer Xbox profiles or any kind of information between Microsoft accounts

An Xbox profile is linked to a single Microsoft account. If you want to delete the Xbox profile you need to delete the whole Microsoft account

I'd like to delete the other accounts, but before I do, I would like to change the email of my Xbox account to my current one. Is this possible to do myself, or would I need to contact support?

Thanks for reaching out to our Microsoft Community Forum. Please accept our warmest regards and sincerest hope that all is well.

We understand you'd like to consolidate multiple Microsoft accounts you have accumulated through the years into a single account.

So just to clear things up, there is no way to "consolidate" multiple Microsoft accounts. It's just not possible. Each time a Microsoft account is created it's a standalone account and an existing Microsoft account cannot be consolidated with it and vice versa.

As to the error message you are getting when adding a Microsoft account as an alias to another Microsoft account it is actually explained in our Add or remove an email alias in Outlook.com guide. To put it simply: "Existing Hotmail, Live, Outlook.com, and MSN addresses can't be added as aliases, and you can't add an alias that is already associated with another Microsoft account."
