Switch to channel number with TV app?

I just hooked my Xbox One up to Bell TV in Canada. I'm a bit disappointed with the user experience. It doesn't seem like anyone has actually used this day-to-day. I feel like no matter what I say the Xbox just picks a random channel. I was super surprised
when I said "Xbox Watch Treehouse" this morning and the Xbox actually switched to that channel.. and not TSN or something like it was doing last night. But I still, for the life of me, no matter how fast or slow or clear I say it, I cannot
get it to "Watch Disney Junior". Is there a trick or something I'm missing?

What would really solve the is to be able to just switch to the channel number. Some stations it can get right away, but other ones it's kind of TV roulette. If I knew it was bad a certain stations I would have no problem memorizing the station number.
It's still better than finding the remote and entering the station number in manually. It's just that I don't see an option to be able to do this.

Anyone? Tips; tricks? (I've calibrated the Kinect to death already).

    :)

Xbox 360 Media Remote TV code

With your remote are you switch to watch regular tv? On the regular tv you need to use your normal tv remote to change channels

Switch to channel number with TV app?

Something a lot of us are asking for! If I can do it with a Smart TV, the Xbox with its superior voice recognition and proecessing power, it should be possible. Hopefully in a near-term update

    Hey there Slipslider and Hobneb,

Calling out a channel number for a voice command is a great suggestion! To make sure we get this idea to the best place possible, please post it (and any other ideas you guys may have) to the
Xbox Feedback site. Thanks! Switch to channel number with TV app? :)

Xboxone only kinda works with Timewarner Motorola box dcx3510-M

Right.. all tested on slow ir .

    results are :

c0877 - works . needs better speech recognition. works about 80% of time

    c0869 - not valid

c2187 - does not change channel and displays a different channel then the one called for

c1376 - Does not input right number, drops first number most of the time.

c1877 - drops first number of channel when switching and switch's to random channels

    c3916 - c0476 - c1254 - displays channel names but doesn't switch

c0810 - drops 2nd and some times 1st number in station number when called for and displays names wrong, displays names in white no change of station

c0276 - drops 2nd and some times 1st number in station number when called for

over all c0877 is best so far but far from perfect. Speech recognition needs cleaned up so it can understand more I think. Some stations like A&E and TLC it gets confused on. Also Seems after 10 or so (i didn't really count but i can if need be) times of
changing a stations the dang thing stops listing and i have to totally exit out of tv app and then go back in.. Eg load something else. Will try c0877 on fast and recommended and update!

    One Guide

Does the OneGuide show little channel numbers in the channel?

If it's like in Germany with satellite TV, it's because the channel numbers are not the same on every set top box.

Some cable networks have a fixed channel order, and OneGuide knows that on channel one, it's "ABC" on channel 2 it's "XYZ" and on channel 3 it's "HBO" and whatever.

However, on satellite TV, it might be because you can order the channels to your own preference, and since OneGuide can't know which order your channels are, they don't offer the possibility to switch, indicated by the channels not having a small grey number
    in the corner.

If OneGuide offers you a TV service with similar channel offerings like DirecTV, then you might try to choose that, and if you see small numbers in the corner, order your channels on your satellite set top box according to the channel ordering of that service.

If you DO have small grey numbers on your channels in OneGuide, make sure your set top box can receive the IR signals sent out by your console.

If you have an original Xbox One (not S or X model), make sure you have a Kinect sensor. Without Kinect, the original Xbox One has no means to send infrared commands.

If you do have a Xbox One S or X with built in IR blaster, take out your smartphone, and activate the camera. Point it to the infrared window of the console, and issue a channel switch command in OneGuide. Observe your camera, and see if the infrared blaster
    is blinking on the console.

if that's the case, make sure the set top box is positioned so, that it can detect the reflected infrared signals.

    Xbox one tv remote

Alright thanks, it'd be a great idea to be able to use the smart glass app with the tv and type in the channel numbers with that...but that would make too much sense for microsoft
