Swapping names of accounts

Long story short I made a 2nd xbox account a while back not realizing I already had one.

Now with the new name thing seems like a good time to ask this.

I have one account with my username for everything, JCas127. The account Ive used for the last 10 years is this one. I am going to switch the name of this account to JCas127 and ideally I wouldnt want people to find my old one because of the # after.

What should I do? Who should I talk to? Or is it not worth the effort?

It's really up to you if you feel it's worth the time. You can switch the name to JCas127 but if you dont change it on the old account to free up the tag it will end up as JCas127#0000 (the zeros would be random numbers).

Yea that’s what i’m trying to avoid.

As long as you free up the tag by changing it on the other account you would be able to use it without the #0000 at the end. If that's worth the effort to have the tag you want on the account you primarily use, go for it.
