If you've gone through the steps of adding a computer and you've still been greeted with that message then it means something isn't meshing right and not allowing you to login to the account. The Trusted PC option only works if you use Internet Explorer (no
other browsers will work with the Trusted PC option). The 30 day wait period is there for account security, it allows a compromised user time to respond (if their account is indeed compromised) to let Microsoft know that no, this is not correct my account
is not compromised. It's sort of a grace period to prevent any sort of funny business.

There's also the option of adding a cell phone number to the account (if you have one available) this seems to be the safest bet and easiest way to gain access back in the meantime). Once you've added one and then request a code be sent via SMS it will send
the code and you should be able to enter it in the website.

As far as your question about how does one update their credit card information in the mean time you'd need to contact phone support and edit it on the phone with them, that would be your only other alternative. You can do that by clicking on this link

If you're pertaining to the security email information on your Microsoft account you need to update it first.

1. Sign in to your Microsoft account. - https://account.microsoft.com/

2. Select Security at the top of the page, and then select Advanced security options. This takes you to the Security basics page.

3. Under Ways to prove who you are, you’ll see the options to change or remove/add security info for each section. When changing this security info, you’re asked to verify your identity via text, email, your Microsoft Authenticator app, or a verification code from your mobile app.

You will be needing to replace this security information. If you've removed and replaced your security info within the last 30 days, you'll have to wait until the 30-day period is over before you can do it again. This waiting period helps protect your account if an attacker gets your password.

Hotmail they locked it for security reasons and he went to recover it but it’s a very old number this is a email he had for years but seem informed he giving don’t seem to help the matter of them unlocking the account to charge the number over unfortunately
