Suspended by toxic person

Ok, so basically I was playing a game of "Fortnite: Battle Royale" when it was me and this other guy left, basically he had high ground and I didn't, so I ultimately lost. As soon as the game finished I got a message from the first place winner that said
"Trash get good" and then I responded with "1v1 me [Mod removed profanity]" I know that I shouldn't have said that but he got me angry since I got 2. Then he went on about how I was "bad" then I mentioned how he didn't have many wins. He then
said that it's because its a alt account, and that he sells them. And then out of nowhere I get a communication ban. This happened about a day ago and I won't post his gamertag since I don't want to get into any further trouble. How come he didn't get a ban
and I did?

It can take time for the enforcement team to investigate and take actions so not all suspensions are issued immediately. Profanity is probably easier for them to stop right away which is why you already received one.

If you reported him then the report will be sent to the enforcement team and they will investigate it and if he did violate the code of conduct then he too will be suspended.

You got a ban as you broke the Xbox CoC by using profanity.

Maybe one day the enforcement team will look at context, but I wouldn't count on it. 🙁
