Surprise me and parental control

Parental controls should be an opt-in system for parents, because some parents don't want to have to create their own Xbox Live profile because its a hassle. The compulsory family protection for minors is inconvenient and I'd be surprised if many parents
actually used it

You are going to have to step in if you are really bothered at what your kid could possibly look at. With internet access you can see almost anything you want, parental controls or not. I would have to agree to some sort of passcode though; it is surprising
that Microsoft would not require a code for dailymotion when parental controls are on.

I like the suggestion. I think I've seen this on other platforms (wiiu, perhaps?).

Parental controls have been a selling feature of technology for a decade or so, so I'm surprised by the reaction from others.

It always surprises me when people can't see the bigger picture. This isn't really about Maxim or alcohol, it's about choice. I want to choose what I see and what my family sees when I fire up the Xbox. I've used the parental controls and they are not
that helpful at screening out what I don't want my children to see. So thanks for the link on how to use the parental controls for us knuckle draggers, we appreciate it.

Microsoft has the power to change how the Dashboard works and I'm saying give us, the consumers, more control over the content.
