    Supreme Commander 2 - Xbox One MP Capability?


    A little while ago, a friend of mine asked myself and a few others to buy Supreme Commander 2 on Xbox - we all use Xbox Ones, so we've been playing via backwards capability. However, the other day we tried to play a game together for the first time, and
    it didn't work.

    First, we noticed that the option to invite friends into a private game via the Xbox One dashboard isn't available (grayed out). That didn't seem like a major issue - I figured that the game, being an Xbox 360 title, probably used the Xbox 360 dashboard
    for invites. I went ahead and added my friend to my friend's list on the X360 dashboard (for whatever reason, it didn't initially show them there until I added them, despite us being friends on the XONE dashboard), and tried to invite them again. The invite
    went through to them, but every time they accepted it simply returned them to the main menu screen.

    I'm at a loss here, so I have to ask: is there no longer MP support for Supreme Commander 2 via Xbox One BC? If not, what are we doing wrong here?

    According to TrueAchievements, the servers appear to still be up, as its online-related achievements remain available.

    This one     has some other suggestions for how to go online successfully, and someone just got the achievement 3 days ago, too.

    Hm, I didn't consider that - thought that was only a thing for the PC version, given that Xbox uses Xbox Live. Now that you mention, I guess they'd still be reliant on those servers.

    They don't necessarily run their own servers. Many games rely on Xbox to provide servers, while others run their own, like Activision and EA, among others. Are you inviting them through the Xbox 360 functionality (press View + Menu together to bring up
    the Xbox 360 Guide) or through Xbox One's?

    I believe the developer shut down and so probably their servers did too.

    The dev was Gas Powered Games, which doesn't really exist anymore. Now it's Wargaming Seattle, but they really don't have any involvement with the franchise anymore.
