Supporting backup emails

Hello,

I was gaming with a friend and started a new account using my primary email as an alternate email address. My primary address had an existing account profile but I wanted to start fresh with my friend giving him a fair chance. However he had to give his
Xbox One a hard hard restart and I had forgotten the email associated with the new account that my friend and I started. Now were back to square one.

The alternate address shows that there is an outlook email attached to the address with showing the first two letters of the account but when I try to recover it trys to reset the primary addresses password and not the alternate password. And around, and
around, we go.

Can someone put a stop to this madness? Or just turn me around and tell me to go back to square one. I'm tired of the running around the same old ground. Its like playing the first level 50 time but never being able to crack the code.

Hi there,

for an issue like this you might have to contact Xbox Support via Phone (or Chat) since they should be able to look into more detail in regards to the accounts and what email address is linked to which account etc.

As far as I know only 1 email address can be connected to an Xbox Live Account and if you want to use multiple accounts it's best to keep them completely seperate, which includes email address wise.

Sometimes the Microsoft Account system is a bit "clingy" when you were signed in with a different account with the same browser.

Try to recover your account with an "In Private" or "Incognito" window of one browser (for example using Edge in Windows 10), while you sign into your primary account on a different browser in Private or Incognito mode as well (for example Google Chrome
or Firefox).

Also make sure you clear the cache and sign in session information in both browsers first before you attempt the recovery.

If you have a backup email on the account try and rest password and the reset password code will send to your backup email and change the password to your main account

You can change the email associated with the account provided you also still have access to the backup email.

Failing that I believe the best option would be to contact xbox support
