Support Force Feedback in the new Windows.Gaming.Input API

Force Feedback, which is much more advanced than regular old rumble, died some years ago. One of the reasons was because XInput did not support it like the older DirectInput did. Windows.Gaming.Input is the new controller API Microsoft released recently.
I would like to request Force Feedback support to be added to this API so the possibility exists for Force Feedback to make a roaring comeback!

Also, please do not restrict the Windows.Gaming.Input API to UWP apps only. If you do, then I doubt Windows.Gaming.Input will be widely adopted.

    :)

No rumble support for Anything Win10 x64

I bought a Pro Xbox One USB Controller and the force feedback wont work its not even detected Even the official Xbox 360 controller has no force feedback. Idk if i'm supposed to have a specific driver installed but from what I read the Xbox Controller
is built into the Win10 Updates so why is there no support for force feedback even Emulators don't detect it.

logitech g27 wheel comparbility with xbox one

Cronus Max is currently working on current-gen Fanatec wheel support on XBox One with their USB controller adapter. Whether they can pull it off or not, particularly with proper force feedback effects, is debatable. One Cronus Max user has already figured
out how to use the Microsoft Force Feedback wheel with the XBox One, but without force feedback. No force feedback would be a deal breaker for me. I think the guy who got it to work with the Microsoft Force Feedback wheel (to the extent he has) did so by
making the Xbox One read the wheel as a controller. He had to make some edits to an interface Macro to get the linearity and deadzones in a region that felt right with the wheel.

    Microsoft V Fanatec

Yes, I have dealt with Fanatec before. They have amazing hardware, terrible software, and terrible customer service and terrible OEM/VAR partnership cooperation. I have been on the phone with them a few times. They are extremely difficult to work with. Their attitude very much comes across as "we will build the best hardware out there and if Microsoft wants to write our driver for us, more power to them. We support ONLY the nearly 30 year old DirectInput API and if you want to use our stuff, you will use almost 30 year old software to do it, and we don't care what that means as far as multi-platform support (e.g. PC, consoles, etc...)".

Yes, it is that bad. Now, that said, Microsoft shouldn't be getting off the hook here very easily. The ONLY force feedback option for nearly 30 years has been DirectInput. XInput came along and supported specifically the gamepads and XBox controllers. The XInput API force feedback is limited to "rumble." Yay! That is about worthless with a racing wheel. It's only recently Microsoft has been starting, and it's just that, a start (and it may even be built on top of Direct Input under the covers, I'm not sure) been coming up with a modern force feedback API, such as the Microsoft.Gaming.Input delivered with UWP and the support in there specifically for racing wheels. So, Microsoft has A LONG way to go in enabling manufacturers like Fanatec to provide better support for their hardware inside Microsoft Operating Systems.

    steering wheel

The MS wheel works good and has Force Feedback. I've used this wheel since Forza 2 came out on the Xbox 360.

I hear that the Logitech is not quite as good with no Force Feedback.

The MS wheel is only available from Ebay and yo buy one new it costs more than it did new. You would have to fined a used one.

New dashboard update breaks all steering wheel force feedback support.

    Fanatec Csr wheel and pedals

no the force feedback does not work

removing the battery pack also does not work

and the fix does not work.

tbh I was so disappointed with the force feedback not working with forza that I bought a ps3 specifically to play gran turismo 5... I find it pathetic that a product licences by Microsoft works on a Sony playstation 3 and basically in my eyes is a expensive
paper weight when in use on the Xbox... I have owned Microsoft products for years, been paying Xbox since the original console came out same with the Xbox live service but this is pathetic.

How about the Microsoft wheels they broke? The Fanatecs? The Mad Catz? Lots of licensing fees involved.
