    Hello guys,

Until 2017 I've owned a PS4 for a short time of two years and there are two things which are very annoying for me and I think it would be a good thing to support those features.

1.) I'm speaking of the support for recording voice audio in game clips. It would be great because you could give your own touch to your game clips. And yes, technically it would be possible to implement such a feature.

2.) Support for USB microphones. I've got a Samson C01U USB studio microphone which I used for streaming on Twitch or game clips on PS4. Why doesn't the Xbox support it when the OS is based on Windows 10?

These are two great features which would increase quality of life when playing on an Xbox console.

I love the Xbox One X, it definitely is a better console than a PS4 ever could be, but it's lacking of such features. (Sorry if my english sounds funny, I'm from potatoland Germany )

    Have a nice day everyone.

    No friend's audio on clips

I found the "problem" apparently if I am in game chat and I make the clip it does not record the voices, but if I remove my microphone from the controller the clip records everything, including the voices of my friends, in any case I cannot play without
microphone, I think it's an audio problem, because I hear the volume of the game on TV and headphones but I only hear chat from the headphones, so what can I try in the settings?

    Games and microphone reccording problem

    Hi Iman976,

Since this is happening with games bought and used from different platforms, there may be a PC setting that is causing this to happen. There's a possible setting where you have to turn on the microphone to record voice in your videos.

Go ahead and follow this guide to set up your headset microphone or any other microphone you use:

    https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/help/4027981/windows-10-how-to-set-up-and-test-microphones

On the Game bar, go ahead and toggle the microphone mute button on and off when recording a video to test it out.

Let us know if that helps!

Xbox Game Bar will not record audio while recording device is being used by another application.

Appears to work, but this might just be a coincidence, because (as I forgot to state in the post) sometimes it did record audio, it was just inconsistent with it most of the time ending up not recording my voice. I'll let you know if I continue to have any problems with recording my microphone in clips.

    Thanks.

Xbox Game bar using mic for recordings

I'm Samy an independent advisor. Welcome to the Xbox community. How are you?

When you start recording a clip, you have the option to disable the microphone next to the stop recording button. By doing this, the clip will not record anything your microphone has picked up.

Equipments for the recording such as Gaming, etc

If you're having trouble hearing your voice in recorded game footage, it's likely that you need to use an external microphone to capture your audio. The Xbox Series S controller has a built-in microphone, but it may not be sensitive enough to pick up your voice clearly during gameplay.

To record your voice, you can use a headset with a built-in microphone or a standalone microphone. A popular choice for gaming content creators is the Blue Yeti microphone, which offers high-quality audio recording and a variety of settings for different recording scenarios.

Once you have a microphone set up, you can adjust the audio settings in the Xbox Series S settings menu to ensure that your voice is being recorded. Make sure that the "Capture party audio" and "Capture microphone audio" settings are both turned on.

If you're still having trouble hearing your voice in recorded game footage after trying these steps, it's possible that there may be a technical issue with your console or recording software. In that case, you may want to reach out to Xbox or the software provider for further assistance.
