    Suggestion : Free-to-play multiplayer games should not require Xbox Live Gold


    Hi,

    Free-to-play games (i.e. fortnite and others) are all free on all other gaming devices except Xbox. This is a big blocker for a lot of people to buy Xbox even though it is a technically superior product with a futuristic roadmap.

    To increase Xbox sales, would request Microsoft to make them free on Xbox as well - as soon as possible.

    Microsoft announced last year, that they will remove the subscription requirement for free-to-play games. Xbox Insiders are currently testing it, and should be available to everyone soon.

    free games need live as they are still full titles with multiplayer and online features and some also require xbox live gold to be played just like games with gold games

    Xbox Live Gold is ONLY required for playing online Multiplayer, participating in parties and getting and playing the free Games with Gold games.

    If you purchased a game digitally, you can download that without a Gold membership. You'll just be unable to play the online multiplayer part (if the game has online Multiplayer).

    MW3 multiplayer like most Xbox Live multiplayer games requires a Gold account to be played online. You can create a new account and have a free 30 day trial of Xbox live gold if you wish to trial the service. you can still play local (splitscreen) and
    LAN games without a gold account but for matchmaking or internet based games, a gold account is required.
