Suggestion for the option of instant deletion for an Xbox account.

Hey!

I wanted to make the suggestion for the option to instantly delete an Xbox account permanently. As I understand it, there is a 30-60 day waiting period between the request of having the account deleted and the permanent deletion taking place. My suggestion
is that this waiting period can be excluded on the basis of the customers confident request in its immediate deletion. This is my case, as I have an old Xbox account I don't use with a gamertag I would like to have on the account I do use. Since the account
with the desired gamertag is inactive and wished to be instantly deleted by the owner so as to be able to change the gamertag on the active account accordingly, the option of instant deletion would be a nice option to have, and perhaps in several other instances
as well.

Is there seriously still no way to delete dlc without the game?!

According to the xbox feedback site this issue was resolved here:

xbox.uservoice.com/.../6150261-allow-deletion-of-dlc

Yet that doesn't seems to be the case for if your purchase only the dlc without the game you have no option to delete the dlc. Seems there is time somebody posted another request with clear instructions regarding this issue

Maybe more people should be made aware of this problem, because there are not many right now. I myself just noticed it while trying to delete Battlefield DLC that I installed free with Gold.

What the process you are talking about isn't what you think

It deletes the ms account

but not the xbox account

If the account has been inactive since 2016 and remains so for 5 years after 2016 then the gamertag will be freed up in 5 years

The quicker method would be to change your name and play the lottery and hope no one takes it while you wait for the gamertag reset which can be days to months to years

If you are hoping to move game saves that wont work

You have to create a new profile and use new saves nothings can be transfered between accounts

I would suggest doing it from the console. xbox.com/drm has issues with errors which can lead to needing a manual DRM transfer done by support. Go to Guide > Account Management and the option is there. It's instant and pretty easy.

After very briefly looking into possible solutions (nothing in the payment option sticky or anything suggested in this thread worked for me), I found that Amazon offers online codes for Gold accounts and MSP. Instant gratification without any of the hassle.
Cheaper, too.

After @choppyseize suggestion, you should have an option to delete the account from the console.. If thats what you want to do.

This is definitely a flaw in the system, but there is a way to prevent this from happening. That is to set up the instant sign in. You can set the console to automatically sign into the account with the parental filters enabled.

Here's how;

When you start the Xbox One console up, sign into the account you want to enable instant sign in.
Press the 'Menu' button (small button with 3 horizontal lines).
Now select "Setting"
On the "Settings" page, under "About Me", you'll see the "Sign-in, security & passkey" option. Click on that.
On this page, there will be an "Instant Sign-in" option, which should be set to "Nobody". Click on that, and chose "Use Instant Sign-in".

Now when you turn on the console, it will sign into the account by itself, and enabling the parental options automatically. You are able to sign out of that account, or sign into a different account at any time, if you chose.
