    suddenly getting "unable to connect to your console" message


    I've previously been able to use the xbox app on my windows 10 PC to stream from my xbox, but its suddenly stopped working. I've confirmed that I have the latest version of the app. I've done a hard boot of the xbox by using the "reboot" option from the
    settings menu of the xbox, as well as reset my PC. I'm not in the preview program on my xbox.

    Now when I click to connect to my xbox I get the following: "We couldn't connect to your console. Make sure the console is still on and connected to the same network as this device."

    I'm glad to provide any other info that would help.

    Smartglass connection problems

    Hello all,

    I've searched the Internet and can't find a solution to my issue. I can't get Smartglass to connect to my console over my wi-fi network . I have the app installed on my Xoom and Razr. I have Smartglass enabled on my console. I can't connect using either device. Eventually, I get a message saying "Unable to locate my console". I can, however, connect with my phone over 4g. Is there a setting on my router that needs to be changed? Any suggestions would be appreciated.

    I find this just happens from time to time. If you manually turn on your Xbox and then connect, it should clear it up for the future.

    Thanks for the reply.

    As I said in my original post, I've done a hard boot on the xbox and also reset my PC but still have the same problem. Unless you mean something different when you said "manually turn on your xbox and then connect"

    first question is your Xbox one and computer connected to the same Wifi Network

    Not to hijack the OP's thread, but I'm having the same issue since the recent update. My xbox and pc are both on the same network, have the same subnet etc. I've factory reset my router, pc etc. No avail. Please help. Thanks.

    @DSTRBD FFMEDIC thanks for the reply. Yes, both are on the same wi-fi network. They are both actually hardwired into the same router.

    Since I last posted, I've been able to get the app to connect to the xbox, but it disconnects within 30 seconds every time I try to stream.

    A lot of people are experiencing this issue right now. I've gone through tried all troubleshooting options provided by support. What I was told was that this is likely an issue that microsoft will have to patch and we will have to wait for an update.

    A while back I subscribed to this forum, I have tried to unsubscribe many times but still keep receiving the emails.

    And now it appears to be working flawlessly, At least for the moment...

    I didn't actually do anything to get it working again.

    I'll mark the question are resolved if things stay stable over the next 24 hours.
